I Can't Do Math Syndrome

If you check the math in the add about the sunglasses, the percentage comes out to be 88% and not 85%. I think these things happen for a few different reasons. I think these mistakes happen in adds and such not because the people who made the add are stupid, its because they're trying to cell an item. I think that they put the percentage as 85% because that looks better than 88% even thought its a bigger number. I also think that when people see a 5 at the end of a price or a percentage, they tend to round up to the bigger number so they think that 85% is a better deal than 88%. Other than marketing, people do not have an excuse to do math poorly. Math is one of the most logical things a human being can ever do because there is usually only one way to find the answer you want. I think what happens is that people get lazy when they do math so they just give up through the problem even when they know its wrong. They don't try hard enough to figure out what the answer really is so they just kind of leave it be.

Parabolas are used in real life to enhance the way we life and to make things more useful to us.

Recreational Math

Math can be used in so many different ways. It is used in the real world with almost everything. Without math in our lives, we could not be the people we are today. Math almost runs the world. It is how we find all the things we need to survive as a community. Without math, we could not build the simplest of structures safely. However, math can be used in every day life for dumb and stupid things that look super cool. Math can be used to make a forever rotation hexagon that can change colors every single time and even change the order of the colors. This math can even be super cool and interesting and can make anyone want to do it. This kind of math can make anyone want to do it and can even get people who do not like math at all become super interested in math and that could lead to them being the next great architect that builds and indestructible building. Math is just cool and it runs the world, recreational of for work.

Piecewise Applications

Piecewise functions can be used in many different ways in the real world. One that I find most interesting is seeing how much you're going to pay for a rental car. In the video, it shows how to use a piecewise function to see how much you're going to pay at the 100 mile mark. In the example, you pay 20c per mine once you hit 100 miles but from 0 - 99 miles you had to play 25c at the starting price of $30. I found this very interesting because you can use it to find anything related to renting things and it just seems very useful. I would use it if I had a certain amount of money and i needed to know what car I had to rent to make sure I had some money left over. It just seemed the most useful out of the few videos that it was shown in and I would even use it myself if I got the chance to.

Kindness

I think kindness should always be a priority in todays world. There are too many people out there who are sad/depressed and usually all they need is a friend to be kind to them. If I was Gorge Saunders, my biggest regret would also be not being kind enough to that girl in elementary school. Sure he's done some things that I, personally, would also regret, but not being kind to someone and knowing that you could have made her day at least once. Thats a pretty big regret to have on your shoulders.

Now, no one is perfect so you can't be kind to EVERYONE at all times, but you can chose to not be mean in general. Being mean never makes anyone else happy besides yourself and even then you aren't that happy. However, its easy to me mean but hard to be kind, but if you just don't go the easy way, you'll be kind to everyone.
